The Entrance sign was replaced on Tuesday Nov 20 just in time
to greet our Friends and Family for Thanksgiving. It had to be

anyone see any further suspicious activity on or around the sign
please alert the authorities. Thank you!

2006.11.02 - Vehicle theft 30 October
2006
From a Sawyer's Creek resident
Maybe you can make a post on the website to notify residents of
a vehicle theft that occurred this morning at 3:30AM. I was up
to fix my daughter a bottle and heard two loud bangs. I went to
the window and observed two black males, late teenagers, with
dark clothing and hooded sweat shirts. They were attempting to
get into my Volvo parked in front on my house. I watched them
check all of the doors including the rear hatch. The doors were
locked so they continued throughout the rest of my neighbors
driveways. I contacted WTPD and watched the males check twelve
more vehicles. They finally found a minivan that was unlocked
and stole over $1000 in tools which they loaded into their car
and sped off before police arrived. The car used was a bronze
Nissan Altima.

2005.08.26 - Car Vandalism, Lawrence
Lane
On Friday, 26 August 2005, between 7:30-10:00 AM, a rock was
thrown at a car windshield. If you witnessed the incident or
if you have a security camera system on Lawrence Lane that
recorded the incident, report your findings to townwatch@sawyerscreek.org.

2005.07.27 - At the Neighborhood Safety meeting Officer Bill
Lee of the Washington Township Police Department, Community
Service Unit, explained how Town Watch works these days. He
also had handouts, the contents of which are available on
this website with permission; the articles are titled "Neighborhood
Watch" and "Crime
Prevention Tips".
At the Sawyer's Creek Homeowners Association meeting on 29 June 2005 we decided it would be a good idea to post incidents in the neighborhood which may affect our mutual safety. This section will evolve as we get a better idea of what to post here, but for now here are some items to get started.
-
Car break-ins: 26-29 June 2005 - A man
and a woman were on foot in Sawyer's Creek breaking
into vehicles. All cars the suspects stole from were
unlocked, as far as we know. Two cars at the
Wesleyan church on County House Road (Pastor
Nathan's home) were broken into. Several residents at
the Association meeting mentioned car break-ins on
Huckleberry as well. Two cars on
Mississippi Trail were broken into. A resident on
Mississippi Trail saw the incidents taking place and
removed the male suspect from his car while the girl ran
away. Police later detained the male suspect and the girl
remains at large. In addition, on June 28th or June 29th,
a car window was smashed on Mississippi
Trail.

According to Mayor Moriarty, Washington Township
is experimenting with portable speed bumps to reduce
speeding. These portable speed bumps are
one-fifth the cost of installing regular speed bumps
($1000 versus $5000), are made from recycled tires and can
be removed for snow plows. At the meeting he acknowledged
the better solution would be for drivers not to
speed. In a neighborhood with many young children
this is indeed a good idea.

There have been some incidents regarding the vandalization
of cars in Sawyer's Creek. Please lock your
car doors to help prevent auto theft and
vandalism.
-
26 June 2005 - Two Deptford youths
damaged the vinyl fences of three neighbors on Rogers
Place and disturbed the peace.
- 26 June 2005 - Rocks were thrown through and broke windows at the corner of Rogers and Huckleberry.
