Just wanted to let everyone know that today, I got a call from Senator Madden and he indicated that the Commissioner of DEP has indicated that for now homeowners can maintain their lawns through this season. He also stated that the DEP is aggressively pursuing lawsuit against the builder(s) and they will be held accountable.

For those home owner's who have improved their properties with structural changes (swimming pools, fences, retaining walls, etc.), the Senator advises that we continue to communicate with DEP because these cases will have to be handled individually. So, if you get a violation notice or any other correspondence, do not ignore it, but keep an open communication with the DEP enforcement office until we get a final resolution.

For anyone who would like written communication from the DEP on maintaining lawns, please email Rod Falla at rod.falla@dep.state.nj.us. Mr. Falla still has not returned to the office from vacation, but the Commissioner's office has indicated that he will send out written confirmation to anyone who wants it once he returns.

The senator's office will continue to update us with information regarding the lawsuit(s), but for now I don't believe we have a need to the DEP/Senator meeting.

Please be sure to pass this information along to anyone who may be impacted. I never did get everyone's email address.

Take Care and Stay Cool!
