Sawyer's Creek Neighborhood Update

President's Message

Greetings friends and neighbors! The summer is now over and kids are going back to school. Things always seem to start getting busy this time of year and Sawyer's Creek is no exception. With this in mind I wanted to write everyone with an update on our development and also to thank you for your patience. There have been many visible activities and many more not so visible activities.

Update 1: STREETS

The dedication of our streets is now completed. TWP Council voted to accept the Public Streets and Sidewalks in the neighborhood. Maintenance and snow removal responsibilities now shift to TWP of Washington Public Works.

In the future, if anyone has problems with streets, sidewalks, shoveling, potholes, etc., please contact:

Nicholas Pileggi
Director of Municipal Services
1 McClure Drive
Turnersville, NJ 08012
(856) 589-0523 fax: 856-589-0529
Hours of Operation: Mon-Wed 8am-5pm, Thurs 8am-7pm, Fri 8am-4pm

We recently made them aware that the street sign installed at Huckleberry Way and County House Rd is mistakenly marked "Huckleberry Ln".

Update 2: OPEN SPACE - Entryway

The developer, SAMCO, is completing the landscape as per the Master Plan. The horse corral, the removal of some trees and addition of other trees is actually on the original plans and that is the way we expect it to be turned over. There will be more trees and shrubbery added over the next few weeks. Additionally other site improvements need to be met but it appears the open space will be dedicated to the SCHOA by year's end. Keep reading regarding beautification and appearance improvements

Update 3: OPEN SPACE LAWN MAINTENANCE

The developer has agreed to have Hammerhead Landscaping maintain the open space. They do a great job and will continue to once Open Space has been turned over.

There are a few steps left in the process but we are very close to reaching the point where the developer is finished with the open spaces, most likely by the end of the year. At that point the SCHOA is prepared to begin a major beautification and landscaping of the open spaces, specifically the entranceway and front basin. The landscape committee will begin to bid out this project. Funding for this project has been accumulating over time. We have a very sizeable budget. This would be a great time to volunteer for the Landscape committee and help shape the look of the neighborhood. We eagerly await your input and feedback.

Ultimately we are proud to say your patience will be rewarded. You will be impressed and more so you will be proud to raise your children and drive home or have friends and relatives visit.

November is election season and we will be holding elections for vacant seats. Now more than ever is a great time to get involved and participate in the Homeowners Association. Most of the headaches are over and the real fun is about to begin.

Do not hesitate to email with any questions or concerns. Look for more updates soon.
