Fall Clean Sweep!

2004.12.18

What does 65 Bags of leaves, 4 leaf blowers, 17 neighbors, 3 hours of teamwork add up to? A cleaned-up, beautiful entrance to our development! On a gorgeous Fall day in November more than a dozen concerned neighbors pitched in to clean up the Huckleberry entrance way, retention basin and sidewalks along Huckleberry way. Activities Chairperson Melissa Redrup, SC Board Members, Rocco Siravo, Kristine Robinson and many others neighbors and family members from all streets in the development swept, raked, gathered and shoveled at least a couple yards of debris that had gathered during the fall season. The result was a significant improvement.

In an effort to save community funds for other big ticket items like a sign and other landscaping projects we as a community need to be willing to pitch in and pool our talent, resources and use some of our sweat equity to get our neighborhood in good shape.

Thank you, Gracias, and Kudos to everyone who participated. These neighbors brought their own tools, trash bags, used their own gas, and most importantly donated their time and lots of effort. I'm sure everyone appreciates the contributions you made.

If you were one of the folks who drove by and felt a little guilty you couldn't help right then don't worry there will be many more opportunities this spring. Our 2005 Landscape Committee will need as many neighbors as possible to pitch in and help. If you are interested in joining the committee please email Kristine at treasurer@sawyerscreek.org

Look in the Winter newsletter for upcoming events that you and the whole family can participate in!
