Do you have a great recipe you would like to share with your neighbors? Do you have a good time saving recipe or menu. After a party do your guests say "Can you write down the ingredients for me?" How about if you email it to us at sawyers_creek@yahoo.com and we will post it for you. Send out our website address (www.sawyerscreek.org) and it is accessible anytime they need it!

From the Kitchen of Colleen, Rogers Place

This recipe is a big hit at neighborhood parties. Colleen isn't allowed in the door with out it. "I guarantee there won't be any left!!"

Swiss Almond Dip

  • 8 oz block of Cream Cheese, softened
  • 5 oz pkg Shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/3 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup Sliced Almonds
  • 1 stalk green Scallion, chopped

Let cream cheese soften, and then mix all ingredients together. Put in pie or quiche dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until top is golden brown.

Serve with Club crackers. Recipe can be doubled and still fit in the same dish.

For a lighter version use light cream cheese. (Don't use fat free cream cheese-will not taste the same)

From the Kitchen of Kristine, Rogers Place

My secret for making gooey fudgy brownies is this:

Buy a regular box of Fudge brownie mix and follow the mixing directions on the box. Add in ½ of a 12 oz bag of chocolate chips and bake in a square 8x8 pan instead of the 13x9 pan. You will also have to bake them at 325 degrees instead of 350 degrees and for 50-55 minutes instead of the regular 30 minutes. Afterwards you will have a thick, chocolaty, hearty, square of goodness! Got milk? You will need it with this dessert!
